3. Take Care of Your Scalp
Just as much as our skin gets dry in winter so does our scalp. It's way worse with our scalp though because our scalp flakes and can lead to embarrassing flakes flying around. Let's keep the snow outside and use these dry scalp treatments to keep us flake free!

The oil from tea tree is well known for its effective treatment of viral and bacterial infections, it's these attributes that leave your hair protected against many forms of scalp irritants.
- Take a small application bottle and fill it with 3/4 full of oil.
- Add 10 -15 drops of tea tree oil in it and mix it well
- Apply this to your scalp and hair
- Massage it gently for few minutes to make oil saturated all over the scalp
- Leave it for few hours or overnight (for better results)

5. Humidify Your Hair
A humidifiers sole purpose is adding moisture into the air which is exactly what we need in the winter! We all know about humidifiers benefits for the skin and body but rarely is hair mentioned in these conversations! And well, it should be!
A humidifier will help to keep more moisture in the air during those harsh winter months, which in turn will help keep our hair from drying out too fast. I am OBSESSED with humidifiers and personally sleep with one every night for its multiple benefits.
My favorite one is:

CRANE DROP ULTRASONIC COOL MIST HUMIDIFIER ($49.99 at TARGET)
I LOVE this product! On nights when I feel like I need to unwind, I add some essential oils like eucalyptus or lavender and it puts me right to sleep! Since using a humidifier, I have noticed that my hair is less brittle, coarse, and dull in the winter months. This thing is worth every penny and will have you and your hair feeling healthier in no time :)
The changes that happen to our hair and scalp in the winter sucks, but one good thing about winter is that styles last so much longer! Gone are the days when doing our hair is pointless because it either falls, or frizzes the second we step foot outside! Winter gives us all the chance to be the lazy girls we truly are and not have to wash our hair as often!
We get to play around with cute hats, our BLO/OUTs last longer, and wearing our hair down is actually possible! Using some of these tips will ensure your hair is shiny, moisturized, and gorgeous for the next few months!
As always, leave a comment below and let me know what you do to fight the elements in the winter :)
XOXO
Gina
