What if I am running late for my appointment?
Things happen and traffic BLOWS! We understand that, we ask that you please give us a call letting us know you're running late and we'll do our best to accommodate. Our policy states that if you do not show up 15 minutes after your reservation time we cancel your reservation and charge a $25 fee. If you get in touch with us we can reschedule your reservation or let you know what other options are available.
Where do I park?
Parking in the city can be tough, here's some advise. If you're visiting our Rittenhouse location there is plenty of metered parking all around us, sometimes you just have to wait to find a spot. Otherwise, we like the parking garage on 19th street between Market & Chestnut, we have coupons for it! If visiting our Washington Square location, metered parking might be tougher but still available. Otherwise, our location is attached to a parking garage and the elevator takes you right down to us! We also have discounted parking there ($3.00) Monday - Friday, 3pm to close and Saturday-Sunday all day! Ask our front desk staff for a voucher.
If I come with friends, will we all start and be ready at the same time?
Our goal is to have your and your friends enjoy the BLO/OUT experience together and not have to wait around for that one friend with the super long and thick hair. If everyone arrives at the same time we will take as many as possible at the same time and as stylists are ready they will take the others. We strive to have everyone done around the same time but since that's not always the case due to different style requests and hair type, we make up for it with cocktails and good music!
Can we bring wine, champagne or food for our reservations?
Absolutely! Although we provide champagne and wine to our clients, you're more than welcome to bring extra that we can put in an ice bucket for you so that you and your party can enjoy it without having to ask for more. We have plenty of space for hors d'oeuvres and food spreads.
Can we pay separately if we come in a big group?
Of course! Usually when a party comes in together, the first available stylists will begin taking you back. Since the usual party is booked by one individual all of the reservations are under that persons and we will refer to you as "Person's Name" Party. Upon checkout we will ask you who your stylist was if for some reason we miss them when they walk you over to the front desk. You can pay for yourself, you and your friends, you and your BFF only or any variation you would like!
Do I need a to put a deposit if booking for a group?
Yes. We do ask for a $100 deposit when reserving for a group. That $100 can either be refunded upon checkout of the group or can be applied to one or more of the services completed during the BLO/OUT. If canceled within 4 hours of the reservation time, that $100 is non refundable.
How far in advance should I reserve my large party?
We recommend reserving for large parties as soon as you possible can! Our weekends get filled up really quickly and it gets hard accommodating larger groups. One of our Event Coordinators would be best to setup a large party and they can be contacted by filling our our Events form located here.
Can I choose a specific stylist?
Although our online BLO/OUT booking does not allow for requesting a specific stylist, you are able to enter requests in the "Notes" section when reserving online. If the stylist is available you will be placed with the requested stylist.
What is the BLO/OUT cancellation policy?
Due to our heavy volume we have had to implement a cancellation / no show policy. A reservation made and not cancelled with sufficient notice or not shown up for occupies a space another BLO/OUT client could have used and been beautified! Any cancellation with less than 4 hours notice or a reservation missed will be applied a $25 fee. We allow up to 15 minutes after the reservation time before classifying it as a "No Show".
Can I bring my dog with me?
Abso-freaking-lutely! We love dogs and are happy to have them around while you're getting beautified! Ask our front desk staff for a water bowl so that your pup stays hydrated. We just ask that you keep your pup under control since their maybe other clients who are allergic or afraid of dogs.
Do you charge more if my hair is longer, thicker, curlier or has extensions?
The first time you visit BLO/OUT your rate will always be $40. However, if during the BLO/OUT the stylist realizes that you have thicker or longer hair than our allotted 45 minutes allows for they will let you know that future visits will be charged at a different rate. We do have a $10 additional charge for our clients with extensions since the time required to BLO/OUT is longer than usual.
Does it cost more if I ask the stylist to use a curling iron or flat iron?
Absolutely not! All of our BLO/OUTs include whatever tools are necessary to get your desired style.
Do you ever offer discounts on your services?
All. The. Time! We regularly send out promotions to our customers via email, our VIP text group (text BLOOUT to 88202), our Royal Members get exclusive monthly specials and we give away a BLO/OUT a week to those that sign up to win on our website!
What’s a typical tip amount?
Gratuity obviously depends on the quality of service you've received. Since we always strive to provide the absolute best service and BLO/OUT we are very proud of the quality of the gratuity our team receives. Our typical tip is 20%+ ($8.00+) if you're not happy enough to leave that rate of gratuity, please let our front desk staff know so that we can correct anything that you were not happy with right there and then!

Do you shampoo my hair?
Yes. We thoroughly shampoo and condition the hair with every service except for the BLO/OUT Express. You can make your shampoo experience even more luxurious by adding a 10 minute scalp massage or Moroccanoil restorative treatment!
How long can I expect my BLO/OUT to last?
Your BLO/OUT will likely last you several days before you need to wash your hair or come back for another BLO/OUT. Some tips to prolong your BLO/OUT are to keep your hair dry and out of the rain, sleep with a satin pillow case to minimize morning bed-head, wear one of our perfect shower caps in the shower, and go easy on the sweating. Our Faux Dry dry shampoo is a perfect solution to extending your blowout too. Spray some on your scalp to absorb oils, and then brush it out with your fingers. The length of time between shampoos also depends on your hair type. BLO/OUTs for coarse, thick, or curly hair tend to last longer than for very fine or oily hair. Given the many factors that go into how long your BLO/OUT will last including weather, activity and hair type, we cannot guarantee the length of time but will do our absolute best to make sure your BLO/OUT lasts!
Can you do ethnic hair?
Absolutely. Our stylists are rigorously trained during the BLO/OUT Boot Camp and can handle any hair texture. Trust me, we’ve seen it all! So get rid of your worries – we want you to feel 100% confident when you enter a BLO/OUT Blow Dry Bar.
How long does it take?
Signature BLO/OUT services will take about 45 minutes depending on the length and texture of your hair. BLO/UP Updos and Custom BLO/OUT services will take about an hour, depending on the complexity of the requested hairstyle.
Do I have to choose from the signature styles menu?
Our Signature Styles menu gives you options for hairstyles that range from sleek and straight to voluminous and curly. But our stylists can do much more than that! Whether you need an elegant updo or a funky custom ‘do, BLO/OUT stylists are here to give you what you want. Feel free to show your stylist a photo of the style that you’re lusting after. What is a Moroccanoil Restorative treatment?
The Moroccanoil Restorative Treatment is a revitalizing treatment that quickly repairs hair that’s weak, damaged or color-treated. Its high-performance formula is rich in argan oil and protein to fortify and restructure hair that’s been damaged by chemical treatments or heat styling. It actually infuses protein back into the weakened hair shaft, so hair becomes stronger and more beautiful.
What's the difference between a Keratin Express and a signature Keratin treatment?
Keratin Express offers the same great conditioning/smoothing results as traditional Keratin, but at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional treatments. A Keratin Express is a lower cost service that requires much less application time at the salon, only 8 hours wait time prior to washing and lasts up to 6 weeks. A signature keratin treatment is a more expensive service that requires longer application time, a 72 hour wait prior to washing and lasts up to 5 months.
How Do I Do This Myself At Home?
You don't! Why would you even want to? We're right around the corner, we have champagne, music and stylists who will listen to you and make everything better! We do offer products to help you extend the life of your BLO/OUT, and many of our clients have had theirs last about 5 days and longer.
What Other Services Do You Offer?
In addition to our array of blow dry services we also offer Keratin Express, Hotheads hair extensions, scalp treatments, root concealer spray and in select locations we offer makeup, lashes, and full salon services including cuts, color and full Keratin.
What is a BLO/OUT EXPRESS?
Our BLO/OUT EXPRESS service is for the girl on the go. It’s strictly dry styling – so if you need to get your hair done and don’t have time for a full BLO/OUT, the EXPRESS is the service for you!
Is BLO/OUT Blow Dry Bar A Franchise?
BLO/OUT Blow Dry Bar is in the process of franchising, but we are not yet a franchise. At this point, any location you visit is company owned. If you are interested in investing or opening your own BLO/OUT Blow Dry Bar, email us at Invest@BLOOUT.com.
Do You Do Weddings? How Can I Book BLO/OUT For An Event?
We most definitely do! BLO/OUT has an events team made up of our most senior team members who have gone through intense formal hairstyling and make-up application training. The BLO/OUT events team provides all sorts of event services including showers, bachelorette parties, birthdays, weddings, corporate photo shoots, modeling shoots, on set styling and many more on-site or at a convenient BLO/OUT location. Do you recommend having a trial done prior to my big event?
Totally! We recommend scheduling a trial BLO/OUT or makeup service prior to the big event to make sure you and your stylist are on the same page and you work out all of the details. Trials are charged at the same rate as the service and we will do our absolute best to make sure the stylist completing the trial is the same one at your event. All trials are documented with images and notes to make sure the look remains consistent.
Who do I contact if I had a bad experience at BLO/OUT?
The last thing we would ever want is for you to be unhappy with your BLO/OUT experience! However, things happen and when they do its our goal to do whatever we can to make sure you are satisfied. If for any reason you are unhappy with your BLO/OUT experience please ask for a manager while on location. Give us the opportunity to correct what went wrong before leaving our location. If you're unhappy with the styling, we can correct it while you're still at the salon. Once you leave there is nothing we can do to correct it. Do you guarantee the quality of the BLO/OUT?
We guarantee that our stylists will do whatever they can to make sure you are happy with your BLO/OUT. We guarantee that our stylists are all extremely well trained and educated and will listen to your requests and provide the style requested. We cannot however guarantee how long a BLO/OUT will last since we cannot control weather, activity or anything that happens outside of our salons. We will do whatever it is we can to make sure you're happy.
